Laura Feliz concentrates her practice primarily in Commercial and Corporate Law, providing advice on the purchase and sale of business, the management of capital and investment funds, corporate processes of dissolution, liquidation and business cessation. She manages extensively the issues of structuring and establishing, creating and organizing trusts. Laura represents and advises domestic and international clients in corporate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, financing and divisions.
Additionally, she works with the areas of Banking Law in project financing, guarantees, leasing contracts; Intellectual Property in registration and renewal of names, trademarks and logos; Real Estate assisting in the sale of real estate and real estate companies, instrumenting leases and the establishment of condominiums and real estate complexes.
He has worked in the installation and maintenance of foreign investment trading companies in the Dominican Republic, providing advice on the increase and reduction of its capital, the levies associated with its industry and participating in the drafting process of its minutes of assemblies and minutes of boards of directors, among other services.
For over ten years she was in charge of the corporate department of one of the most important firms in the country, assisting mainly clients from the United States, Spain, Mexico and Venezuela, and where she coordinated the work of the entire team, working almost all aspects of corporate law from incorporations, transformations and adjustments of commercial companies, drafting annual assemblies, commercial contracts, incorporating offshore companies in several countries of Central America and the Caribbean, obtaining commercial permits for foreign companies, corporate processes of injunction, dissolution and liquidation of businesses and corporate reorganizations.
Laura Feliz obtained her Law Degree in 1999 from the prestigious Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, where three years later she completed her master’s degree in Business Law.
In addition, Laura received training on trust companies from the Latin American Federation of Banks, as well as BanColombia, the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Santo Domingo and the Fiduciary Alliance of Colombia.
Laura is an active member of the Dominican Bar Association.
She has given several courses and seminars on the new Trusts Law, the General Law on Companies and on the Reorganization of Companies: Transformation, Merger and Division.
